How to Fix a Leaking Sink Pipe

You should not allow the sink to leak, including the pipes that complete it. If there is a leak in the pipe or sink, you must fix it as soon as possible. Leaving the sink pipe in a leaky condition means that you damage the pipe little by little. It’s actually easy to fix a leak in this sink pipe. The key is you have to find out the main cause first.

Solution 1. Overcoming Clogged Pipes

Most cases of leaks in the sink pipe occur because the pipe is clogged with dirt. The amount of dirt trapped in the pipes is blocking the flow of water from the sink. Because it has the nature of pressing in all directions, the water will look for the slightest gap to pass through. Starting from just seeping to leaking can occur due to blocked water flow. The solution is to clean all the dirt that clogs the pipes.

Solution 2. Replacing the Leaking Pipe

Water coming out of the sink pipe could be the result of a hole in the pipe. This hole is the outlet for the water. Some of the water flowing in the pipe will exit its path through this hole. Then there is a case of leakage. The leaking sink pipe can still be patched as long as the hole is not too big. But if the hole in the pipe is large enough, there is no other solution but to replace it.

Solution 3. Repairing Pipeline Installation

A leaky sink pipe can also occur because of your mistake in designing the pipe installation model. As a result, the water can not immediately flow out completely in a fast time. The water flows slowly as a result of you mistaking the path. This slow flow of water runs the risk of seeping into the gaps in the pipe joints, causing leaks. Try to disassemble the pipe and put it back together.

Solution 4. Reconnecting the Pipe

Pipes for sewers should not be installed just like that. You should not join pipes without bonding them with adhesive. Because the flow of water has a strong pressure. Sooner or later the untied pipe joint will inevitably come loose. It is not impossible that this factor causes the sink pipe in your home to leak. If so, you can remove the pipe. Then reconnect these pipes with glue and special tape as a binder.
